Health & Safety Policy
One of the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act is for organisations employing 5 or more employees to have a written Health & Safety Policy.
The Health and Safety Policy is the foundation for developing and embedding robust health and safety management arrangements within your organisation.
Safety Advice Scotland can work with your organisation and provide 'hands on' support in developing a Health and Safety Policy that is bespoke to your business and reflect the way you and your staff manage health and safety on a day to day basis.
The policy will include a statement affirming your company's commitment to good health and safety management, an outline of the roles and duties of your staff and details of the arrangements in place to allow you to implement the policy. By developing and implementing a Health and Safety Policy for your business you will not only be complying with legislation and protecting your staff and stakeholders but also gaining a valuable asset for your organisation.
The requirement for a robust health and safety policy is increasingly becoming a 'must have' in areas such as tender submissions; registering care services; negotiating reduced insurance premiums; approval as a local authority 'preferred contractor'; gaining accreditation status in industry wide schemes such as 'CHAS', 'safecontractor', Approved Care Provider, Gas Safe etc.
SAFETY ADVICE SCOTLAND can also assist with the development of other documentation your organisation may require including undertaking and producing risk assessments, safe work procedures, method statements etc.
